Trump fires FBI chief James Comey

President Donald Trump has fired the head of the FBI, James Comey, in the midst of an investigation into the Trump administration's links to Russia.

James Brien Comey Jr. was 7th Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 4th September 2013, until May 9th 2017.

He was appointed Director of the FBI by President Barack Obama.

Comey's responsibilities included overseeing of the FBI's investigation of the Hillary Clinton email controversy.

He was probably one of the people who have cost Hillary Clinton her election in 2016's U.S. presidential election.

James Comey was dismissed by President Donald Trump, on May 9th, 2017.

Trump stated that he fired Comey to ease the Russian investigation against him. He even called James Comey a nut job!

The FBI opened an investigation into the Trump campaign in late July. Comey asked President Obama permission to write an warning about Russians interfering in the election of 2016.

On may 3rd, 2017, in testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Comey said that Russia is the greatest threat of any nation on Earth. One of the biggest lessons learned is that Russia will do this again.

He also added that Russia should pay the price for interfering into the election.
