Michelle John of The Voice UK jokes she is 'browsing' for men at the Screen Nation Awards.
The Screen Nation Film & TV Awards was held on May 7th, couple of days ago for 12th time.
First name of the Awards was Black Filmmaker Film & TV Awards and was founded by movie producer Charles Thompson. He was hoping to raise awareness about British and international movie and television talented people of African heritage.
There are more than 20 awards, and some of them are: Outstanding Contribution to Film and TV, Classic TV Series, Male Performance, Female Performance, Emerging Talent, Fav International Film etc.
There were many famous people who were awarded, such as: Morgan Freeman, John Boyega, Jamie Foxx, Yaphet Kotto, Spike Lee...
The Award is also known as Black BAFTAs.
One of the famous people on the red carpet was Michelle John, a backing vocalist for Eric Clapton's band. She made it through to the two-show Grand Finals of The Voice UK. She is the only female vocalist that was left in the competition.
She grew up in Peckham and her passion for singing began in church. As a teenager she was a member of the London Community Gospel Choir.
Michelle worked with many great singers and musicians, and from 2004, she is part of Eric Clapton's touring and recording band.
