Bake Off's Benjamina: It's a shame new show won't have Mary

Benjamina Ebuehi says "it's a bit sad" new bakers won't have the same experience as she did on the Great British Bake Off at the Screen Nation Awards.

The Great British Bake Off is a British television baking competition in which amateur bakers compete who will be the best baker.

It premiered on BBC Two in August 2010, and after becoming one of the most popular programme on that channel it was moved to BBC One.

One of the most recognizable faces of the show is Benjamina Ebuehi.

Benjamina started baking for fun at the age of 14 and since then her hobby has grown into a passion.

The recent graduate lives with her family in South London along with her brother and twin sister. Benji's bakes combine classic, simple flavours with modern style. She takes pride in her presentation and follows online cake fashions for inspiration. In her spare time, the amateur baker publishes a food blog where she shares her recipes and baking stories.

The teaching assistant is also a self-described perfectionist. She was a straight A student throughout her time at school, and she brings the same work ethic and high standards with her into the BBC One's show.
