Prince Philip to step back from royal duties

Prince Philip will stop carrying out public engagements this autumn, Buckingham Palace has announced. .

Prince Philip of England - known as the Duke of Edinburgh - is retiring this year. He is 95 year old and will not be involved in the matters of the crown anymore.

Prince Philip is husband of Queen Elizabeth II. Royal couple is together almost 70 years now and decision of Prince Philip will not influence Queen's political and other engagements. The Duke of Edinburgh still remains the patron of almost 800 organizations, but will not be playing acting role in attending any engagements. He has heart problems, but managed to have more than 100 days of engagements in the past year. He is the fifth busiest member of his family!

His decision is supported by the Queen and by the rest of the Royal family.

The Duke had rich career and is famous for his wit, no nonsense approach and his outrageous gaffs. He sure will be missed from the public engagements.
