Yoko Ono sat down for an exclusive chat with ITV News after collecting the 'NME Inspiration Award' and talked backlashes, fame and John Lennon.
One can never fully recover from the loss of the loved ones. Even after decades, the vid is still there, and there is nothing that could help you heal, except for time. However, you could never heal.
Yoko Ono talked to ITV News and admitted that she still misses her late husband, Beatles star, John Lennon, who was murdered more than 35 years ago. She said that it was an incredible loss.
On her 83rd birthday, she gave an exclusive interview to Tom Bradby. She said, "I still miss him, especially now because the world is not quite right and everybody seems to be suffering and if he was here it would have been different I think. See most people think that well he's a rocker and just kind of 'rock baby'. No, at home he was a very gentle person and extremely, extremely concerned about me but also concerned about the world too."
She was recently honored with an NME Award for inspiration for her work in the music industry and her never-ending campaigning for peace.
She said that she never looked for fame and that she has had to find a way to cope with everything, saying that it wasn’t easy.
Also, she gave some advice for women who are trying to enter the music industry today, "I would say don't be too rash. And don't be too pushy. Just let things happen. If you don't do that there'll be a backlash. The backlash is very, very difficult to take."
